I’ve assembled a really cool movie team. We get together every couple of months for a rip roarin’ Saturday night at the movies. Subjects include everything from old films we love to new films we don’t, favorite heroes and villains, directors, special effects, movie music, and so much more!
Jon Hitesman:
Jon Hitesman of Manchester-by-the-sea, Mass has an interest in film music that was due to his father. Jon's father, Walter was the head of Reader's Digest Books and Music division for some 15 years from 1960-1974. he has the pleasure of attending many recording sessions in New York and London over the years. He sat with the conductor, Charles Gerhardt and his producer, George Korngold. George was the son of the legendary film composer, Erich Wolfgang Korngold who scored many of the legendary Warner Brothers classics of the 30's and 40's. Chuck and George were extremely kind to take Jon under their wings to advance his knowledge and interest in all forms of music particular interest paid to film scores. As a result, Jon considers Chuck and George his mentors and had enormous respect and admiration for their work. In the early 1970's at the behest of Jon's father, Chuck proceeded to do a series of classic film scores for RCA Records. George produced all the recordings, many are considered definitive recordings of legendary composers.
Jon has profiled their works along with the works of Bernard Herrmann. He plans to continue featuring works of famous composers on future shows with Henry Mancini on his next appearance. He has some 3.600 cds in his library where he draws his material. He can be reached at: Jonathon_65@msn.com.

He and his terrific wife Marilyn, who is an accomplished freelance writer, provide our movie show with great insight into films far and wide. Garry is addicted to Turner Classics and knows much more about old movies than anyone I know; Marilyn adds the essential woman’s touch and even though us guys outnumber her, she can hold her own in the defense of chick flicks…trust me!
